"Am Frieden verdienen"
Dieser Workshop ist eine Einfuehrung in die Vortragsreihe der World Peace Academy des Winters 2009-2010 zum gleichen Gesamtthema. Er ist basiert auf Buch 6 der TRANSCEND University Press, "Peace Business: Humans and Nature Above Markets and Capital" (Friedenswirtschaft: Menschen und Natur vor Märkten und Kapital) von Jack Santa Barbara, Fred Dubee und Johan Galtung (2009). Dieses Buch untersucht, wie eine Firma geleitet werden kann, um den Frieden zu fördern. Das bedeutet, direkte, strukturelle und kulturelle Gewalt zu vermindern (negativer Frieden), und die Grundbedürfnisse für Leben, Wohlbefinden, Freiheit und Identität aller Menschen zu befriedigen, gleichberechtigte Beziehungen zwischen den Menschen aufzubauen, und die Natur für künftige Generationen zu schonen (positiver Frieden). Dies ist eine grosse Herausforderung, die Prioritäten in der Produktion zu ändern, die Organisation von Firmen neu zu gestalten, und globale Zusammenarbeit zum Wohl aller zu entwickeln.

| Resource Person(s) | Prof. Dr. Johan Galtung Dr. Johan Galtung, born 1930 in Oslo, is a distinguished Professor of Peace Studies and Founder of TRANSCEND, a Global Network for Peace and Development (www.transcend.org) with 350 members in 80 countries. He is widely recognized as the founder of the academic discipline of peace studies. He founded the world's first Peace Research Institute in Oslo, Norway, in 1959, and the Journal of Peace Research in 1964. From there he brought his work to new centers for peace and conciliation throughout the world. He was the first rector of the TRANSCEND Peace University, www.transcend.org/tpu (2003-2007). He has been a consultant to the United Nations and its family of organizations. He has integrated rigorous scholarship and research with the development of innovative educational programs around the world. He has written 141 books (translated into 33 languages) and over 1500 articles on various aspects of peace and conflict resolution. Over the last fifty years, he has mediated in over 100 major international conflicts. His tireless commitment to peace has been recognized with numerous awards, including ten honorary doctorates and the Right Livelihood Award (the "Alternative Nobel Prize"). |
